Hi,

Some of you may remember i was asking about a pizza delivery job, and i was talking about getting a car to do it.

Well, I just got a 1981 Ford Laser Ghia. Its pretty close to roadworthy, a few questions.

How close do they look at the brakes? One of my rotors has some pretty serious grooves in it.
Does it matter if the window washer switch isnt on the tree but there is a seperate button for it?
How serious does a chip in the window have to be for it to be unroadworthy?

Umm thats all i can think of for now, no doubt ill have more questions later.

Thanks
-Meph

P.S Cut n Polish is the best invention ever (the car had a lot of chalky paint)

I second that :)

if you have a mate whos mechanic and can do RWC for you he wont even bother looking at your car and will do it for you for $55-$60. :D

But other wise you might end up spending more than what the car costed.

from my experience their pretty tight on windscreens in VIC rwc's.
In nsw a chip has to be in the drivers field of view to be a defect.
With a VIC RWC they pull the wheels off one side and inspect the brakes.
In nsw they aren't visually inspected only a brake test with a G-force meter is done.
Washer switch shouldn't be a prob as long as they work and it's easy to get at the switch while driving, just show it to the mechanic b4 the inspection. (i have seen horn switches knocked back for not being on the steering wheel)

That sort of attitude really pisses me off.....as it can result in un-roadworthy cars on the road, which could result in innocent people being killed/injured as a result of a collision due to the un-roadworthiness.....
