Hi all,

I recently drove from Canberra to Melbourne and had the air con on most for the way. On the way back, during a stop, i noticed a water leak underneath engine, the engine was off. The air con works fine and the temp gauge stayed as it should. I have checked the radiator and i had to top up with a little coolant. The overflow bottle was empty though, I also checked the oil for milkyness and that was fine too.

I'm thinking the water leak is from the air con use, is it normal for water to leak when using the air con?
Also before the trip, i had timing , power steering, alternator belts and water pump changed.

I haven't noticed any leaks since...

Yes, the air conditioning system emits water when in and after use. If it is air conditioning condensate, it will be coming a small pipe protruding midway down on the passenger-side of the firewall.

Next time you see it, move the car and have a closer look at the puddle. Does it look like normal water? Does it have a smell? If it looks and smells like normal water it will be air-conditioning condensate.
If it dripping from elsewhere or smells of coolant, you may have other issues.
