Hi all
Have a 2004 Verada, only done 75,000 klms but had to do a rear hub this week and have decided to do timing belt water pump etc.
I haven't been in the trade for 10 years and would like some info on the best place for good quality parts.
Also any thing extra that should be done while doing the belt.
I realise this question has probably been asked but is there a time issue with the lifespan of the belt or is it just mileage?

There is another recent thread in the AWD forum addressing other things that can be done while changing the timing belt. It has another reply today so is easy to find ie next to this one that you started yesterday. You should check it out if you haven't already.
Timing belt issues are not related to the fact that your car is AWD so you could (should) also look in the Third Gen forum. (You could have put your post there.)
Yes there is a time issue with timing belts, 5 years according to the Magna/Verada service schedule. You should definitely change yours.

Service requirements = replace after 5 years or at 100,000 km, whichever is earliest.

Some people prefer to ignore one of those numbers, some people ignore both. lol

Or sell their car when the belt job looms. lol
My TJ had 111,600 km and 10 years on the original belt when I bought it, my TL had 136,000 km and 9 years when I bought that.
First thing I did with both was to change the belt.

Thanks for the replies, very informative. Tried doing searches but since the wet started up here Malcolms copper wire gives very intermittent internet access. I'd be surprised if I get this sentence finished. Ended up just asking the question, apologies for any inconvenience to Moderators.
