Hi all
This may have been covered before, but my searches arnt revealing much
Has anyone fitted a factory sunroof into a tj magna/kj verada that didnt ship from the factory with one?
Im assuming the internal roof rails would be different between a factory fitment and on without, also assuming the roof lining would be different between the 2?
Also wondering if there is already any wiring in the roof to accomodate this?
Im expecting this to be a no go, but you never know if you dont ask!
Cheers

I asked this question before and was told that the whole roof skin needs to be transplanted.
Seemed more effort than the car is worth

It would be easier and cheaper to fit an aftermarket Webasto/Hollandia sunroof, probably easier to find service items for also.
Roof from a factory sunroof-equipped Magna/Verada required for a factory sunroof to be fitted.

After market roof will cost you around the mid 2000 mark, if you drop the interior out yourself and have a good contact at a panel shop you can do the factory roof for under 2000 fitted and painted and you get a freshly painted roof. This is what I am doing to my Legnum in coming months. Personally AI would rather a factory sunroof over an aftermarket one anyday.
Comes to this, if you are going to pay around the 2k mark, is the car worth it and why not do a proper job.
We have also had the same done to a 380 in the past as well but they are a little easier with the roof skin design

I inquired about the Webasto sunroofs and under the slide mechanism and motor (where the sunroof sits when slid back), they leave the trim slack as its not a flat surface so it hangs a bit which I find kind off putting. Im proud to have a magna with a roof lining that doesnt hang. Factory would be a lot cleaner! Price is pretty close as well... The Hollandia 700 (which is the closest model to a stock sunroof) is about $2000.

I have a Hollandia 700. I prefer it over the oem sunroof. You want pictures? Roof lining doesn't hang if installed properly.
