Thanks for the help.:hmm:

Hmm. Wheels will fit without issues. The tyre size is a close match to stock 205/65R15 in overall diameter. 225/45 R18 will be much bigger so stick with 215/45R18 or 235/40R18.

:happy:Thanks for the reply Vlad.....my stock wheels on the VR wagon are 215 60 16 so I will fit 225 45 18 tyres if the rims don't end up going over my budget.

Ahh, OK, VRs had the 16" wheels so in that case, 225/45R18 or possibly 235/45R18, if they are legal on 7.5" wheels. I had the same sized stock wheel/tyre combo as yours and when I moved to 18", I went 18x8 and had 235/45R18 (slightly under) initially and then moved to 235/45R18 (slightly over).

+48 offset is going to make them sit inside the guards a long way.

Other thing not mentioned in add is the centre bore, magna has about 67mm. Some are smaller, like Toyota and Nissan.

Nope. +48 is only 2mm in towards the suspension than oem +46.

However, yes ask the seller the centre bore size. As long as it is equal or bigger than 67mm is fine. Can use locating rings if bigger than 67mm and are inexpensive. All tyre/wheel centres have them.

You are right they are close to oem, but depends how much OP wants to be concerned by aesthetics, I have 8" wide rims with +35 offset, which will fill the guards an extra 20mm nearly over the ones advertised.
They are a good fit on the front, but at rear still sit inside too much with the wagons.
So they will fit and look ok to an extent, just not give the look of filling the guards at all.

Nope again. +48 and +35 is only 13mm difference so yours stick out 11mm more than OEM. The extra 0.5" width of the wheel is taken care of by the wider tyre.
8" is just over 200mm and approx 225 from lip to lip where as the tyre is 225mm wide (I had 225 on 8" before switching to 235 on 8"). That is a 225 tyre on 7.5" +46 should look identical in placement to a 225 tyre on 8" +46.

The owner of the wheels couldn't tell me the diameter of the centre bore before the auction commenced so I wasn't to keen on bidding to high because of this and someone else won......thanks for your input guys.

Anyone else reading this post historically and considering these rim sizes and offsets, and where they sit inside the guards, my advice is to do the maths yourself.

For 17x8 +35. Vs. 18x7.5 48

You should get two figures, 19.4mm. And 6.7mm

After that you should decide on what tyre width will best fit the rim you have chosen.

That's all I'm saying. I'm out of this thread.

Brett, I am not sure where you are getting those figures. I use tyre calculator and came up with the following:

Compare 215/60R16 on 16x6 +46 with the following:
225/45R18 on 18x8 +35 sticks out 16mm
235/45R18 on 18x8 +35 sticks out 21mm
225/45R18 on 18x7.5 +48 sticks in 7mm and out 3mm
235/45R18 on 18x7.5 +48 sticks in 12mm and out 8mm

Compare 235/45R18 on 18x7.5 +48 with:
235/45R18 on 18x8 +35 sticks out 13mm as I mentioned previously.
