Do hard brake pads cause the discs to wear quicker, the softer ones seem to have better pedal feel

As far as I knew, cheaper pads tend to wear your disc's quicker just because your stepping on the pedal much harder to get the same stopping power.
Weather or not these are soft or hard is irrelevant, if you're thinking about replacing pads, I don't know what you're using now but most people on here would recommend QFM pads for 2nd and 3rd gens and even 380s

if pads are harder wont pull you up wear the rotor
mid range type suits the first gen good feel and stop the car
soft pads wear faster give off lots of dust the rotor stays pristen
several makers to chose from as well

I put a set of Ferodos on the rear of my wagon....super dusty and noisy as well. I got a set of Girlings, quiet, not so much dust and work pretty well. Rotor wear looks OK. The Bendix pads I had before seemed really good as well. I guess you get what you pay for!

Your most welcome....if anyone out there wants a set of free Ferodos for the rears let me know, pay postage and that's it. My discs were machined and are at min thickness, that prob didn't help the noise issue, but the girlings are fine. If anyone wants them I can throw the Ferodos in the post when I get a chance.
