Were they working before you swapped batteries? Or did they stop working and you assumed a battery change would fix them?

Common fault with these is the battery carrirer breaks free from the circuit board so no power to the board as a result. If you have a voltmeter/multimeter check the old batteries , should be about 3volts.

The other thing I've found is the silicon button pad weeps goo into the microswitches and either stuffs them or the switch sticks closed. Both mine have had the battery carrier break which I've resoldered and the sticky buttons. One the button had failed completely so i desoldered the panic switch and swapped it into the faulty ones location.

I have seen someone advertise replacement micro switches if you have the skills to do this otherwise i think they're around $70-100 per remote to replace.

They were working before the batteries were swapped.

Must be your reprogramming procedure then.

Did mine yesterday after both remotes stopped working. Possible flat battery caused the "memory loss".

You have to turn the ignition from the ACC position to On 3 times. The hazard lights will flash if this is going to work for reprogramming.

Press any button on the remote.
Press any button on the next remote.

I think up to 4 remotes can be programmed.

The most common fault with the TJ series remotes is the battery carrier becoming seperated from the PCB - this can be easily fixed by trimming back the battery carrier so you can resolder the connections and using a small cable tie to secure the battery into the carrier. Took me about 15 - 20 mins to do.
