in the dizzy cap?????????????????????????

ummm, b worried. i cant think of how oil couldve leaked into the dizzy cap itself. the rotor's "body" (if u know wat i mean) is totally flat and meets up with the head perfectly. maybe it was a seal on the rotor shaft or something around the face. no idea, it wasnt from somewhere else leaking down? hmmm, actually the only way i can think is the rotor was fu%^ed. goo job on replacing it :D

You might find the oil is working its way up the shaft from the distributor drive(cam end) passed the bush into the body of dissy.
Oil in a dissy electrics is not a good thing, but you can get away with it for a while if it's not dripping off the insides. Clean it regularly with isopropanil alcohol or metho, and look into a repair.

If it is coming up the shaft it'll be wear between shaft and bush leaving a little gap for the oil to sneak past  .

Hope this helps.

pete don't panic !

it's pretty common on the 2.6 for the dissy to have a bit of oil in it after 200'000km. It is caused by a worn oil seal on the rotor drive shaft you have to pull the distributor apart to get at it.
It can cause a miss-fire if the leak gets bad enough for the oil to pool in the cap.
