okay i'm going to make this clear i don't really know any more than the basics when it comes to this kind of thing. recently i was given a 97 TE Exec V6 Auto (it looks like ass so it was worth nothing) i pulled the stereo out of it because you could turn it on and off when there wasn't even a key in it (also none of that part of the dash was actually screwed in it was all just resting in place lol). pulled it out and found both Constant power and accessory wire connected to the red/black wire on the loom. at this point i should mention the connections are twisted together and everything is taped up and held together with Zip ties back there. i've tried testing the Blue wire witch i think is the accessory wire back there but it doesn't give anything in any key position so i think the wire broke somewhere hence why it's all wired into the constant power. i've been pulling my hair out trying to figure out where i could find another Accessory wire around the same area so i can wire up the new stereo properly and so i don't drain my battery or would having the stereos Acc and constant power hooked up to the constant power not drain the battery as long as i remembered to turn the headunit off when i got out of the car??.
Thank you guys in advance you've always been a big help to me in the past.

check your fuses, and if they're all good and your cig lighter works then tap into that.

Acc wire can be tapped into off the back of the cig lighter. Otherwise check a fuse, it could well be a blown fuse in the kick panel or engine bay fuse box that has disable the factory acc power.

ACC works that's the thing i checked the fuse under the dash it was all good didn't know there was one under the hood too i'll check. the Cig lighter from what i saw was Constant power not Acc or i'm guessing it's the other wire >.< I'll have a look into it thanks. let you know what happens.

okay Peaandham thank you for getting me to double check the engine bay fuse. they had a 15 when they should have had a 10 i dont know why i didn't pick up on that before Thank you. now the blue wire has power finally my next question is when i hold the multi meter on it it was very low like 3.5 i turn the ignition on and it went to 12.5 turn the igniton off again and it slowly goes down like .01 a second. is this normal as there is nowhere for the power to go?

If the cig lighter has constant power then it would be able to be used all the time, the wire is powered but only with the ignition on.
So once the car has sat for a while what voltage is the ignition wire on then? Also depending on how cheap your multimeter is it may not be that accurate.

the multimeter is cheep cheep. and i'm not sure i'm going to let it sit for a bit and see if the voltage drops back down. should it drop down to nothing? the Cig lighter does the same thing as the blue acc wire for the headunit slowly drops voltage when the key is off. but thankfully now i dont have to use the cig lighter and cut into anything the blue wire is finally live again.
