I'm going to be replacing the timing belt soon and while I'm at it want to replace the camshaft and crankshaft seals too. The only thing that I am concerned with is getting to the seals. To remove the bolt on the cam sprockets the manual says you need the special "End yoke tool" EMB990767. I'm not even sure where I can get one of these, the only one I've seen was about $160 including postage. I think the same tool is used for the camshaft too?
Anyway I've read that a lot of people use impact wrenches, but I don't have access to one, so want another alternative. I've also read that a strap wrench could be used to hold the sprocket, but can't imagine this would work that well. Anther way was taking the rocker covers off and holding the camshaft with a spanner, but I don't really want to take the covers off as I changed the gaskets and plug seals not long ago so there's no need for me to take this off again.
Is there any tricks people have or can anyone direct me to a strap wrench that would actually work, or one of these end yoke tools that isn't so expensive?
Any other tips to changing the seals or belt? Thanks in advance

I just used a sturdy wire looped a couple of times back and forward between the cam wheels so they were tied to each other (Ie could move) then cracked the cam bolts, removed the wire and then removed cam wheels.

It's a sliding fit, ie it should just slide off. Don't lose the keys or dislodge them when putting the cog back on.

It slides off (in theory) The first time i changed the one on the TH it was stuck on - had to buy a pulley puller to get it to release, after that I refitted with antisieze and then was easy.
