Hello all,

So I purchased some rims from gumtree the other week and had a mate who was in Perth pick them up for me (live outside Perth). Without asking him to measure anything and trust the seller (saying they were for a Magna) I paid for them and now have them at home.. only problem being the Bore size is to small?

The only markings on the inside are MMAL, saying they are made by ROH and their size is 15x6J

Anyone know what these are off I am guessing they are Mitsubishi wheels based on the MMAL? Just so I can onsell/give them away. They still appear to be 114.3 rims though?

Cheers

They remind me of the Magna Elite, so I did a search and found this "1991-1994_Mitsubishi_TR_Magna_Elite_sedan_01.jpg"

If they are the same, the wikipedia claim is an early 90's TR Magna.

Yeah i thought centre bore would be same? They don't have a smaller set of hub rings inside the wheels still do they?

Centre bore can be machined out if you are keen to use them still.

If you look at the back of the wheel, you will find (hopefully) that the hole at the centre is a lot bigger than it is from the front. The front of the hole is smaller, and is for a centre cap, see photo of gen 2 car.
I've swapped 15 inch gen 2 steel wheels onto a gen 3 without problems, and gen 3 alloys onto a second gen also without problems, so as far as I know everything is the same wheel wise. Trial fit them to be sure.

If you are going to use them, check them carefully for cracks, as they are quite old. If fitting tyres, get the tyre guys to check them for leaks after fitting the tyres, as a check for cracks and porous castings.

First time I saw these wheels, I thought "mmm, looks like a jellyfish at the centre!" lol

Hmm I will have a crack at fitting them, they are slightly bigger from rear but still appear too small. Just for my race car as need a collection of rim/tyre sizes so was purchasing up any cheap 15inch Magna mag wheels I could (for rule reasons you can't run the standard steel rims on the front..)

I will give it a crack and report back! Cheers guys

You want to go racing with 20 year old alloy wheels on the front? EeeeeK!

Well for anyone playing at home, turns out it was an illusion and they do fit fine (albeit the right wheel nuts help)!

Cheers for your help guys.
