Hi everyone,

I have recently purchased a 2002 TJ Magna and the auto has a bit of a flare between 2nd and 3rd (it is a 4 speed triptronic).
I have been told it needs an auto service and have purchased the external filter from supercheap, but they also said an internal filter is available. Is it worth replacing this also?
And what is the best way to go about a proper clean as I am not sure how long it has been since the transmission fluid was changed.
What is the best fluid that I should be using? A lot of people on here rcommend genuine but was just wondering if anyone has any personal preferences.

Best Regards,

Pat

Use genuine fluid.
The internal filter can't be reached easily, more of a replacement at overhaul time situation. You may find it hasn't got the external filter, seeing it is a TJ. Mine doesn't.

The procedure has been outlined many times, do a search.
