I'm having a strange problem with this KL AWD

The car has a sporadic and odd idle that feels and sounds like a misfire.
The idle is low and rough,

But it drives very smoothly under load and power when moving. The idle goes back to crap once it becomes stationary again. The car has a clean TB, the engine only has around 120,000klms, the isc seems fine.

Cold or hot makes no difference to this issue.

Any suggestions?

I feel out of place suggesting this mate....

But, the only way I can get my magna to do what you're describing is to not plug something in - vacuum line or electrical connection. Something simple you know?

My guess is that you've checked all that though, so.... faulty part? I want to say battery/alternator or something vacuum related (provided everything is plugged in properly)

Turning on AC, or lights, foot on the brake - no change in idle doing any of these things?

The trouble is, I don't have the car with me.

I'm leaning to a vacuum issue. So I'll just check them when I see them

another thing that it could be is check the air mixture screw, the O ring there could be perished, coil, and, on the outside of things, the O2 sensor. My idle was exactly the same as your describing, and those 3 things on my car was replaced, and an ecu reset and the car has been perfect ever since. unfortunately, i cant tell you what 3 of those parts fixed the problem for me. also, if your chasing vacuum leaks, dont forget the injector seats, its a common miss conception that these things last forever. what i did to check these items for leaks (do at your own risk) when the car is cold, get a can of carby cleaner, start the car, and and spray a little bit at the suspect spot, you will notice a massive change in idle.

Consider checking your engine mounts also, the driver's side one in particular.
My Magna had a really low, rough idle until it was replaced.

I've got this car now. I have been working on it as a cheap backup car.

I've changed the leads to almost no difference, the isc was changed and that helped shitloads. The idle now doesn't go really low, but the idle is still high and if you leave it in N or park, the engine revs itself to about 1300 and drops quickly and repeats.

Having said that. The engine sounds like it's missing ever so slightly at idle. Under power it is smooth.

The TB is clean. The dizzy rotor is good and the cap is good also. I'm almost out of ideas here. I'll be trying to get a car where the isc is good and go from there.

Anyone else have any clue?

Sounds like one part of the engine management is fighting another..... said Captain Obvious. TPS is set right?

I meant "coil" not distributor sorry. The magic part if the distributor. I had to change mine out after I was having weird power dropouts after closed throttle. Seems to have fixed my issue.

For starters Magna's dont have a "mixture" screw, the air screw should only be adjusted when a scanner is plugged in to set the ISC steps.

The fact that the car is hunting would get me to start on the TPS, could be the TPS is playing up and the ECU is trying to find idle.

I'll try changing the entire TB assembly with a complete new one.

See how I go.
