Sony Xplod CDX-L430X
Sony Xplod GT6935

Are these any good? They sound pretty good to me...I'm wanting some Xplod splits, which ones are good to get?

model numbers for the splits ya want are; XSHF600G
there the new Sony Xplod G-Series 6" Components rated at 170watt RMS.

they've got separate passive crossovers, and an aluminium diecast frame, magesium woofer and tweeter.

There bout $399 but by the time you twist the guys leg off at strathfield, you can get bout 320-360 outta em ;)

1. splits for that price, unfortinately you will have to look at other than sony :(

2. no, its a off the shef PS2, but its powered by a Inverter. so its makes the +12v into 240V output ;)

3. if i told you, id have to kill you :badgrin: :badgrin: and NO im not a drug dealer! if you really wanna know, look up "show us ya workspace" in the Booya Lounge 8)
and if you wanna take my job for the $$ feel free, make sure you have some spare time (12-16hours a day) and you'll fit right in ;)

I picked up my Kenwood 170W 6 inch splits for $220, but that was at JB-HI which is the cheapest in Sydney.
Personally, Kenwood is the best bang for your buck. You can go to one extreme and buy Alpine gear and pay an arm and a leg, or go the povo K-mart/Sony Xplode alternative and get poor quality

on that driving quizz the other night, it showd that 'other' coloured cars are infact safer than white, blue, red (cos they go too fast ;)) black and green :D

For serious Car Audio/Visual Stick with Alpine!!! and MB Quart Speakers are the best!!! thats my opinion.. not a fan of Sony Xpload heard alot of stories about the gear.. faults and will not go that hard.. they can actually XPLOAD!! :)

as for warranty, i damaged one sub by a shopping bag with some haeavy stuff rolled onto it, so it damaged the coils, but SONY didnt maky any complaints and promptly issued a new sub. ive had stories with alpine and pioneer that its taken up to 6months to get headunits back :shock: :shock: even with SONY computer equiptment, there warretny services are ace :D

Sony have a high range??? I thought it was all one range.. CRAP :D hehhe i am sure they make something good.. after all they are just trying to make something which can compete with ALPINE cause they are the best!! I think sony should stick with Home Audio/Visual!! My Stero at home is a SONY and its the shit!! Well i must say i burnt the voice coil on my Type R and Only took a week for them to send me a new one!! Brand new and was even the Newer Seriers has a Deeper Dish!! cant complain but i suppose all companies are not 100% human's are to blame!!!

I would like to hear you system Booya as the last sony system i heard was the Sony Xpload XR8 and i asked them to turn it up... hahah mabey it was the installer but the speakers sounded like fireworks!!! terrible..

Anyways I am sure whatever you decide to buy will sound good just get some good advice and you will be suprised what a difference a good INSTALL can make on any gear!!! Do your homework filfk0de 8)

sony is just a home brand name..... everone knows sony....
just think of it this way...... sony is in everything home, tv, stero, car, and what have u. they can only say invest 20% of money into the car audio..... given the quality and sound of sony syste its probably like 5%..... then u have other copanies like kicker..... rockford..... eclispe.....jl...lanzar who only make car audio gear... therefore alll their money is invested into this area.....

Sony definately had a hand in it, although they didn't do it on their own!

Phillips developed the 4 track cassette and player/recorder in 1956. Sony, Phillips and Grundig released it in 1965.

Sony, Hitachi, Mitsubishi (Panasonic/Technics) and JVC co-developed the CD in 1977. Sony and Phillips released it in 1982.

If you stay away from their cheaper stuff...Sony are up there, although I think many people here would think the same...They're not really the benchmark for car audio systems!
