Want to stiffen up the cornering and responsiveness of the car a bit, been wanting a rear swaybar for a while. Everythings pretty much stock but I did notice it has monroe GT shocks. Pretty sure springs are still stock. I'm not sure if it even has a rear swaybar?

Anyway, this will do the trick? http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Whiteline-BMR69XZ-Sway-Bar-Stabiliser-Kit-Rear-MITSUBISHI-VERADA-1996-2002-/161123393801?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2583b3e109&_uhb=1

Its a 1998 KF Ei Sedan.
And can I get it cheaper elsewhere?
Anything else I should know?

I believe that most people will recommend you replace the rear subframe with one from a car that had an OEM swaybar (ie, VRX, Sports, GTVi etc)

few people don't recommend the whiteline swaybar kit but i know of one member who has it fitted to his TF and has had no Issues.

you are also able to replace the rear K frame with one from a Sports/VRX/GTV/i or any TL which gives you a factory option. i plan to do this soon...

I had one of these, on a TJ series one. Never had any issues with it.

The kit does look pretty shady though. Having said that, it never failed.

If I had the choice again, I'd get the sub frame swap though. Just so I could swap between the stock 18mm bar and a 22mm bar when needed.

KF does not have a rear swaybar.

VRX's, Ralliarts, GTVI's did, then on the TL/TW it became standard. I swapped my TE subframe out for a TL one, the bushes in the TE were worn too and the handbrake mount isnt as good so its a great upgrade. Do a search, ive covered this before in other threads.

Johnvirus, doesn't your VRX have a swaybar as standard?

now i'm confused

The whiteline website says "Suits sedan models without OE sway bar" I assume OE = stock
So will this fit or no?
And i've done a search on this forum for 'swaybar' and never saw a post mentioning a K frame swap.
So could someone enlighten me here?

1) Will it fit my KF?
2) Whats this K frame swapping business? never heard of it, no idea what the benefits are or whats involved. Or how hard it is to source parts....

I want to essentially fit a swaybar and leave it. I 'might' upgrade springs but thats about it, not looking to make it performance oriented I want it as a daily driver that doesn't have as much body roll around the corners, and can rail a bit better.

If you don't have a rear bar currently, then yes, the "without OE rear bar" will fit.

Nothing to be confused about, yes will fit, it will be a poor fit, you lose some of the structural integrity on the back end as these cheap rubbish brackes bolt onto the k frame mounts thus you end up with nuts only being held on by a couple of threads

I have had customers drop these in with a car and ask for them to be fitted and I have refused for the above reason

For the price being asked you could get a TL rear end with newer bushes and better hand brake cable set up including freight to Sydney, a few hours later you have a car which is much better in the back end and no risk of damage to the k frame or the studs which hold it in.

I live in Cairns, QLD. Sourcing one locally might be a problem. I have a cordless impact wrench and breaker bar so loosening things should be ok just seems like a big job.
Do you have any? and how much in total to get it up here?
I also need a towbar and wiring harness so if that helps with freight....
