Today I have given my Magna away (could never sell it) to a family member interstate. It was a TJ series 2 Advance wagon made in late 2002.
I bought it in 2004 with 12 000 km on the clock and it has just under 150 000 now. I change my cars often and rarely keep them more than couple of years. This Magna was an exception - slowly but surely it grew on me with its utter practical character , performance and reliability . Kept it for 10 years ... Only mechanical issues in that time - 1 window reg and engine mount.
After 6g75 and manual conversion , suspension and brake upgrades it was simply fantastic to drive -a great sleeper - many guys in fancy machinery were left scratching their heads after being chopped by a Magna wagon :-)
I think Mals work and commitment to Magnas was a major part in my satisfaction with the car. Mal deserves a high praise for his efforts with engineering solutions and quality workmanship.
Keep those Magnas running :-)

I try not to think about it as it is going to be his work car ( apprentice ) and it certainly won't get pampering I was giving it . These Magnas are certainly one of the most underrated cars on the market .

Here, here!! When I was in the market looking for a car back in '05, a magna was probably one of the furtherest cars from my mind at the time. Having grown up with various Holdens over the years, I hated mitsubishi magnas (mainly the first gen models).
That was until I was in a car yard near my old place of work, where I had been commuting by train & pushbike for the better part of 6 months and I was getting the jack of QR giving me grief for having my bike on the train.
There was a near new looking '02 TJ magna exec sedan that was one of the tidiest looking cars in the lot. I kept an open mind and took it for a test drive and absolutely loved it! 9 years later and I'm driving a KJ AWD Verada with no intention of selling/trading it any time soon. They have proven much more reliable and trouble free compared to my Holdens (but that should come as no surprise to anyone on these forums) and having tricked my AWD with a raft of upgrades over the years, it's a a bloody nice thing to drive!
