Anyone had their 380 tranny mounts replaced recently?
If so what parts did you use/where did you buy them from or did your mechanic/Mitsub service center have no problems replacing them?

The full story is my 380 transmission mounts require replacing and my Mitsub service center says Mitsubishi doesn't stock them anymore and their usual aftermarket suppliers (repco etc.) don't have a suitable replacement. I find this quite odd as it was my understanding genuine spare parts are to be available minimum 10 years after local sales cease. I could be wrong about that, but I plan to contact Mitsubishi further up the chain to get advice on suitable replacement parts. Which is why I’m here asking your advice in case indeed I do have to find my own tranny mounts.
I'm sure I can just jump on ebay and start ordering but a bit of info gathering first is always useful.

Any other help is appreciated.
I figured if Mitsub really doesn't stock transmission mounts then this may become a useful thread.
Thanks guys

Can you be more specific like Auto/Man, Transmission mount or Trans and engine Mounts? From what I can tell there is 1 trans mount, 2 engine roll stoppers and the Engine mount.

I guess you did not bother trying to get the OEM numbers from the Dealer?

Seems awfully sus. I'd be tempted to contact consumer affairs. Really bad if they kept NIL spares of a component needed to secure the transmission, especially if they're unique to Oz ?

For some reason I thought 10years also. Should be wty period + 10. I can still get parts for my 20yo Galant!

i'm finding similar issues with my 2005 TW Wagon, no headlining which suggests some parts are probably never carried. hard to believe they had a rush on them.

Anyway I suspect these numbers will be correct.

I'm betting you have a M/T and that's the issue.

Manual Trans mount MN101870 - no joy even with google.

AUto Trans mount MN101214, same as US, MN101214 (http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/MITSUBISHI-OEM-MN101214-Engine-Transmission-Mounting-Transmission-Mount-/321362106406?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item4ad2ac9826)

Ah sorry, no it's an auto.
Well I see no reason why they'd be different from what's used in the V6 Galant - same engine, same layout, I'm assume same trans.
I thought mounts should last longer (it's an '06 sx with 85k, everything stock and never had an accident) but then some googling told me cars can have mounts needing replacing when it's pushing a decade old. The roads around where I live are worse than most in Brisbane if that can have an effect.
I only spoke to the sales/front counter person today over the phone whilst at work (they're keeping the car overnight for a front strut issue) so it was my plan to call back tomorrow and speak to the service department to get further help with buying the right part should indeed I have to do that. Guess I was a bit premo with posting this haha. I'll be sure to ask exactly which mount(s) and anything else I can gather and repost.
I did get a number to inquire more about why the mounts are apparently not stocked and to gather further info to help me purchase the correct parts.

Thanks for your response.
And that link is awesome. May prove to be a life saver.

Hopefully I won't have to go as far as to get one made up but hey, not ruling it out. I reckon the worst case scenario is ordering mounts from the US for the Galant. Although if it means I get something more durable by having it made up then perhaps it's worth it.

I replaced my tranny mount early last year, same deal no stock. They tried Japan ..... no stock then the US & got me a Galant one which is identical. It was about twice the price I could have bought it direct from the US for. Obviously they didn't get any spares when they got mine :/

Is this now the thin edge of the wedge regarding spares for the 380?

That is strange, I have the gear box mount in stock here, genuine ones for that matter and also have access to the bushes for the 2 roll stop mounts as well....Issue with Mits is that they often dont look up the correct part as I have no troubles getting some of the items they (Mitsubishi) claim are not available and funnily enough I get them from..... wait for it.......Mitsubishi

Freight could be interesting and slow from UAE?

They probably could not get them from Japan because I suspect there's no Jap market Model that uses that mount.

Libraries\Pictures\Engine mounting and support 380.tifSo, I haven't done much in the way of this. The mounts are a minor problem at this stage and I have some big financial commitments in my life coming up which is taking precedence.
The number I've been given to call is 1300 131 211 - seems to be just a general customer service no.
I'll chase this up eventually and update when I do.
Thanks for everyone's input.

So for anyone who ends up having the same problem I ordered the mount from Mits-fix and had it fitted by Mitsub.
I was actually surprised the effect it had - removed some drive line noises, less vibration through the steering wheel at idle and tightened up the ride. Not made firmer but tightened it.
Quite impressed all in all.

Thanks again to everyone.

Stock is available for the transmission mounts, I purchased one by mistake just before Xmas. I required the lower mount closest to the firewall and I received the upper trans mount instead!

They offered to take it back and refund me the difference but with two 380's I'm bound to need it some time!!
