View Full Version : TJ to KJ? Replacing Automatic Drive-train With a Manual Drive-train

Hey guys, first ever post
So basically my car is beat to absolute shit (TJ series 1 manual) The paints faded, a tree branch fell on the roof, some drunk dude kicked the front panels in, the aerial is snapped of, and the interior is no better. However the drivetrain is, 'perfect', only 130k reguarly serviced
I've found a guy selling his KJ verada, series 1 auto, in great cosmetic condition, the only problem he claims is that the Trans has crapped itself. I was wonder how much time and parts it would realistically take for myself to put my drivetrain into the verada? They are both 3.5L, and he is only asking 800 due to needing cash. Is there anything I should be cautious about?

Thanks Eric

A manual Verada is an awesome thing! If youre motivated and patient, youll do alright. Its been done before, have a look here (http://www.aussiemagna.com/forums/showthread.php?t=59380&highlight=manual) for example...

I converted my verada to manual cause the wife doesn't want auto. It was good cause I bought my brothers smashed vrx which was the donor vehicle.
