View Full Version : ABS Fault
I just brought a TH 99 Magna Sports and the abs and brake lights are on all the time, I've check fuses, voltages and wheel sensors and all is good. Disconnect battery, had an computer plug into the car cpu, but wont talked to the abs cpu.Wwill i need to replace the cpu / modulator to reset the fault and get the abs system working ? According to the manuals wiring diagram there is no seperate cpu but only one unit built into the modulator under the bonnet, is this correct?
Cheers

It's safe to drive the car, the ABS defaults to normal brakes if there is a problem.
Worthwhile double checking for chafed wires, dirt or bits of metal on the magnetic wheel speed sensors before you rip into the ABS unit.
No idea how to access the ABS unit for a reset. The ABS computer should be able to tell you the error code, using the "short the pins" in the access port. Pins 1 & 4, look at the ABS light blinking for the error code.
(Confirm the above with the manual, or wait for more answers, as I've never tried this myself.)

Brake lights on all the time - is it as simple as the brake light switch?
