location doesnt matter .thanks for the response
mmm wrapped in plastic wont that sweat ?
I am wanting one or two small timing chain cogs in ok condition to replace the worn ones
Cant think of a reason why they would wear the teeth out ...never heard of this before....oil pressure was ok
there is always oil on these cogs ... so stumped
some readers will like this...... a small washer behind the timing chain tensioner foot (only sigma people do this )
.. ..I wonder if this caused this unusual wear

I wonder if the G54B in the Starion, timing components are compatible?

TW2005 you amaze me with all the links you are able to find for mitsubishi parts on the internet
many thanks for your time and effort searching
answer 4G54
the small balance shaft cogs on the magna motor are reversable and interchangable
in the bottom kit
seems to be generic one kit suits all ... only useable stuff in this one ... is guides, chains and top cam cog
looks like a wrecker trip ... might get lucky with a stripped motor ...someone may have been looking for a timing cover ...
magnaman89 has heaps of part pm me your phone number and i will pass it on to him

Well, can't say I fully understand but there was 2 of those MD021172 balancer sprockets in that complete kit. Had TR 4cyl once, never went near the rattly chain so nil experience there.

TW2005 this is the first i ever heard of balalnce shaft cogs wearing down
rattly chains is more a first gen sickness .. only did two 2nd gens .and heaps of firsts..... then decided to remove the balance shafts every time

dennystone 12 ..thank you ..
..
should be ok this time . magnaman89 from Victoria ... rang me with good news this morning
Maybe we should start adding in our signatures if we have postable spares..keep the list by the computer
magnaman89 shares our passion for first gens .. He is willing to help anyone with a first gen who gets stuck.
.he said just message lydz or I have his contact to text
My research says a first gen magna should be a Post Classic ..... First generation (1985–1991)
Mitsubishi took over Chrysler in Australia...and became Mitsubishi Motors Australia Limited on 1 October 1980.
Other car forums say Post Classic and Classic are 20 -40 years old ..Ford, Holden, Chrysler

That's a great idea about listing what we have...older cars can get expensive for spares, that's for sure...I'm into the older Valiants as well, must have been something about cars from the Adelaide factory or something! I will only buy spares from one or two Valiant places in Australia these days, the rest are crazy priced, cheaper to buy USA if available and get it shipped...the magna parts prices will probably just head upwards as well I guess.
