Hi everyone iv been trying to paint my car seats black using duplicolor fabric and vinyl spray but it doesnt really penetrate and im left with a look that looks so obviously painted and not very good so I have though about using acrylic paint and rubbing it in? has anyone dyed their seats black and how did they do it? I dont want seat covers as I like the factory look and new car seats are too expensive.

What sort or preps should I have done? all I really did was a thorough clean before spraying

Don't use acrylic paint.
And don't wear light coloured clothes when driving the car.

If I wanted black seats, which I don't, I'd reupholster them.

Sometimes seat covers are easier.
