Hi Guys,

My misus has a 97 TF Sport, and upon turning left and right there is a ticking/grinding noise and when you come out of the turn its gone.

I have been under the car, and the front wheel arch gaurds on both sides after years of highway driving in the country have some slits and cracks in them.

Im not sure if due to this wind hits them and pushes them back into the wheel or due to the slits and cracks, they are out of shape and hitting the wheel.

Could i be anything else? As i said its only when turning, when on staight road there is nothing, so im not sure if its the front wheel arch, any ideas?

Cheers,

Tyres will leave drag marks and scrapes on the plastic guard liners and engine splash guards where they rub, it will be quite obvious.

Could also be the drive shafts, depending on km, they can click quite loudly if worn.

Jack the car up at a front wheel with the steering on full lock either way and turn the wheel by hand. Listen for noises and feel for rough patches and varying resistance when turning. Check the driveshaft boots, if they are split you found the problem.
