Leaky injector dribbling fuel in overnight? Try holding your foot down on the accelerator when starting, see if it fires up quicker. Lift off when it fires up, obviously.
If that improves things, pull the front injectors out after standing overnight and see if one is wet with fuel. If not, look at the rear ones.

yeah, i was thinking down the injector line, i was kind of in 2 minds about it though, because the car was fine through the rest of the day. oddly enough, its only been doing this since the weather has cooled down. guess its off to get some injectors, thanks MadMax for the reply

Mmmm - before spending money, try disconnecting the fuel pump when the engine is hot, and run the engine until it runs out of fuel. Then reconnect the fuel pump. That way there is no fuel pressure in the fuel rail left overnight. If it is a leaky injector, the car should start normally the next day. Could be a number of other things, like a cracked distributor cap collecting moisture overnight, or an ignition coil on the way out.
I hate spending money on parts if I'm not really sure they will fix a problem. lol

i actually do agree with you there, if it wasent for 1 thing, the injectors currently in the car was from the wreckers, just got them and threw them in, reason being is because my original set of injectors i got cleaned by a mechanic, somehow buggered them up, to the point where all of them were stuck open. is the injectors at fault, not sure, but probably. should i get new ones, couldnt hurt i suppose, considering what ive already got. dizzy cap and coil are new, and the leads dont leak.
i would like to update this post by saying that my problem has been resolved, bought new injectors and that did the trick

If you don't mind me asking, what did the new injectors cost?
Did you get them from Mitsubishi or some after market place (if that is even possible)?

ebay actually, they are listed as brand new (could be reconditioned) worked out $30 dearer then getting my injectors cleaned, again, hard to trust mechanics here in mackay. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/191117099131?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649

Wow, that seems like a great price (if they are new). :)

either way, this is day number 2 and the car is running fine, in fact, better then fine :) the injectors seem to be of good quality as well

Wonderful! I may have to look into this myself :)
Being 12 years old, I was considering having my bench cleaned/restored, but it makes more sense to buy new if they don't cost much more.
