Model: '91 TP GLX
Engine: 2.6 Astron II Carby
Trans: 5 speed
Mods: Sony CD/MP3 player with Sony speakers, non original hubcaps, I changed the tail lights and garnish as they were faded, cracked, and had the stick-on trim peeling off.
Kms: 215000
I have recently purchased this car as a run about and daily driver to travel to and from work.
It's a one owner (deceased estate), the gentleman that bought it had lovingly maintained it since brand new.
It's very tidy for it's age, the interior is like new, the exterior has a bump or 2 but nothing major, zero rust. Drives very well, no shakes or rattles, I have a complete up to date service history including receipts for everything ever done to it, the original owner was fastidious, I can tell it was well looked after and not mistreated at all. However it handles like a Japanese whaling boat, definitely going to source some lowered springs and struts for it, purely to make it handle a bit better, not for looks.
Here's what sealed the deal, I purchased it on 10/5/14 with rego until late Jan 2015 and got it for $700... Can't complain about that.

Cheers Denny, pretty happy with it as a "commute to work" vehicle.

Brings back fond memories of my old TM manual.

And it's a manual, so it's not true Grandpa spec!

On the plus side, it is one thing less to go wrong on it. Manuals are so much more reliable in the long run. They were probably more popular for new car buyers in 1991 than they are today. No pesky cam belt or fuel injection to worry about, either!

My Opa had a carby manual!

And the EFI cars are far more reliable than the carbs.

great to see another first gen. My TP GLX (EFI 5 spd) is still going strong at 361,000kms. If you can find and fit elite seats, they are a massive upgrade.

There is guy local to me wrecking a low kms TN Elite, he has a full interior in vgc.
In all honesty, this was purchased as a commuter. I have another car that I spend my spare $$ on.
Check it out

Suggest you grab the drivers seat if nothing else
if still there and in good condition

they will make a difference to your ,daily drive comfort

you will need to swap the seat buckle click bit before refitting

if he wants over $50 for it walk away .

Yeah I think he would want more than that, don't think he would sell the seats separately
