Hey guys......
The lights in the auto selector lever are not working in my 3rd gen verada, I am looking to see if there are any common causes for this?
All I have done so far is change over the whole selector assembly with one in better condition overall, I have no idea if the new one I put in already has an issue itself, I just do not know where to start so I figured id ask the question here, and yes, before you say so, I did do a search!....lol
Cheers

obvious question did you plug all the plugs in when you changed it?

Lmao....yes I did...
Sorry I should have been a bit more specific, they wernt working with the original one in it, so, unless ive been unlucky and got one that is faulty in itself, or there is a fault somewhere else, im just asking the question if there is any common causes for this in the 3rd gens

the selector plug on top of the box is a possibility.

Auto shifter does not control dash lights. This is done by the inhibitor switch
If the inhibitor switch is not working then the dash lights will not work and the Trans will be stuck in limp mode.
l would start at the cluster and check for power at the appropiate pins on the cluster loom. Could be cluster issue but remember cluster has LED not normal globes.

Its not the dash lights he's having trouble with its the lights on the gear selector. The light in the shifter is controlled by the headlight parklight circuit I think .

Sorry I thought he was talking about the selector lights, in that case first port of call is to check the globe and power to the globe and go from there.
