Howdy Fellas,

Short history, car when at steady cruising speed (60-90kmh) etc will have a short "hiccup" and lose power for a split second then kick back in,has been doing this on and off for a while now with no real pattern, car has also started stalling alot, mainly when aircon is on but has started doing it without aswell, doesnt seem to stall in N just when in "drive" this norrmally happens when coming off idle to pull away etc

finally today, it was hiccupping whilst cruising, then started bucking heavily, then threw a check engine code finally, but also TCL off light is now stuck on,so any ideas?

also how can I retrieve the codes and find a list of problems versus codes?

cheers

Cam angle sensor, crank angle sensor, ignition coil.

First two throw codes, last one doesn't.

Cheers Madmax,

just probed the diagnostic port got 12 as the fault code,so looks like MAF sensor is shagged, anyone heard of this problem before causing my issues?

Yes, absolutely. In my case (TJ) the MAF started to play up, giving false info to the ECU. This caused the EGR valve to be open when it shouldn't be, leaning the mixture and causing stalling on lifting the throttle off idle (ie. when taking off at the lights). Eventually it died altogether, engine light showed up, MAF code given, ECU running on default airflow settings (REALLY bad economy, like 30-40 l/100km!!). Swapped the MAF for one from MitsFix, problem solved. I dunno what actually goes wrong with the MAF but when they go they are basically cactus and can't be repaired as far as I know.

EDIT: I don't know the OEM cost, presumably astronomical. From Mal it was pretty cheap and even came with a free intake duct (much easier to fit)!
