As the title suggests, only found 1 result in search which didnt really nail it on the head for me
i want to install TL/W Magna Outer door handles into a KJ Verada, I understand they will be a straight swap except for the front passenger door as there is no door lock on the TL/W Handles
Ive heard there is a bit of a modification that needs to be done in order for things to work properly, is this correct?
What needs to be done?, is it only the front passenger side that needs modding to get it working properly?
I know many of you have done this, hence i was suprised i didnt find the right search results.....maybe just me not using the right search terms
anyhow, any advice guys

oops - need to check the manual before I can answer this.
If the lock is connected with a rod, remove that. If switch on back of lock, remove that.

dont tell me its that simple.....perhaps i should have waited till the handles are in my hand....lol, would have probably figured that out...
ohh well, at least the info is here if anyone else wants to refer to it through search results... :)

Simply remove the locking barrel from the rod and leave the rod loose, don't tie it up to anything, otherwise the door won't lock or open. Also, on the drivers side, remove the circlip behind the barrel and them push the barrel inwards to the car to facilitate easier removal of the handle,

ahh okay, so the barrel stays behind when you pull out the handle.....thanks for that, i simply thought the barrel would come out with the handle then id have to figure out how to swap the lock into the new handle..
Cheers for that!
Remove the rod attached to the pass side barrel or you'll get a rattle. It is a separate rod to the main unlock/lock one.
One of the first mods I did to my KJ XI.

No, the barrel will come out a bit with the handle after you have undone the bolts, it will only come out about 10 to 20 mm or so, then you get behind the handle to remove the circlip from the barrel, it is easier than trying to remove it in the door, also, the clips that hold the rods in the handle can be hard to undo, but persevere

hi guys
well the time has come, my handles have arrived, i have just changed over the passenger front door, the difference in appearance is massive huh
ive now just got the door lock and rod sitting inside the door, i can see where the rod attached to the locking mechanism, but i cannot see how to seperate the rod, and im not keen on pulling the whole thing out to just disconnect that...
what is it being held on by?, im referring to the part of the rod that has the sliding slot in it, getting it off there
