Hi guys,

Does anyone have instructions on how to operate the central locking remote for a TJ as I recently just accidentally activated the horn siren, panic function of some sort. It's the control with a large green and red button.

Also, is this model fitted with a factory alarm or just immobiliser? Need to know for insurance purposes...

Red button, single quick press, locks. Green button, single quick press, unlocks driver's door. Double quick press on green to unlock all doors.

Little button needs two quick presses to pop boot. This does nothing on a wagon. BUT if you hold this down for a second or so, it sets off the PANIC function - horn, indicators go off.

Immobiliser is a chip within the key head.

So your car has both immobiliser and alarm.

[To test the alarm, wind down a window, close door, lock car. Then reach in and open the door from the inside. Alarm should go off.

They also play up with battery terminals failing - I'll be doing this soon http://martybugs.net/magna/remote.cgi

What is the sound of the alarm, is it the horn or does it have a siren?
