A few people have asked me about this recently, so I thought I would post up my instructions.

This is for a Rain Tracker RT50A with a JDM Auto position stalk.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR INSTALLING R50A INTO 3RD GEN

1. The wiring loom that has been moderately prefabricated is the correct length for installing the ECU for the sytstem in the drivers side of the dash. The ECU box should be tied around the vertical frame housing the audio/climate control , so as not to be out of place, rattle around or impede any of the climate control motors.

2. The steering column should has to be removed. The ON/OFF switch is to be installed in the steering column shroud directly under the wiper stalk. The switch should be positioned carefully as if the hole is too close to the column stalk vertically, the switch will not fit. The wiring harness is fabricated in a way so that the plug for the ON/OFF switch will fit through the hole for the switch itself.

3. The pre-fabricated wiring harness should be threaded over the steering column, so as not to be in the way of the footwell, and to appear as neat as possible. the lengths of wiring are sufficient to do this easily.

4. The wiring should then be taped to the factory column stalk harness on the key side of the column. The wiring for the headlight plug is separate to the wiring for the wiper plug. The headlight plug has 3 wires, (grey, green and red) The Grey has a pin on it. This plugs into the factory "dash side plug" of the headlight stalk. The correct plug for the grey wire is the one coming from the stalk itself on a flexible wire. You will notice the JDM Auto stalk has an extra grey wire compared to the Aussie stalk. This is the Auto position wire. You need to install the grey pin in the corresponding location on the plug.

5. The RED headlight wire, splices into the Red/yellowstripe wire pictured below on the wiring loom "dash side" DO NOT CUT THE WIRES! JUST SPLICE

6. The Green Headlight wire, splices into the Black/Redstripe wire in the picture below on the wiring loom "dash side" DO NOT CUT THE WIRES! JUST SPLICE

WIPERS TO GO!

7. The rest of the wires not in the small headlight group on the fabricated loom follow the factroy wiring to the wiper stalk plug.
Remove the tape on the wiper stalk plug for ease of access.

Then do as follows:

Lobian System Car Loom

Black Wire ----------------Splice to------------------- Black wire
Orange Wire---------------Splice to------------------ Solid Blue Wire
Green/Bluestripe---------Splice to------------------ Blue/Redstripe wire

On the car loom, cut the Blue/Orangestripe wire with lots of length both sides

On the 'Car side' of the blue/orangestripe wire, attach the Yellow/Orange wire from the Lobian System
On the 'Stalk side' of the blue/orangestrip wire, attach the Blue/Yellow wire from the Lobian System

Once this is all done, run the wire from the sensor to the Lobian ECU and connect. The plug at the end of the sensor wire is extremely fragile. DO NOT FORCE IT!!!!
The sensor wire will fit under the shroud for the EC mirror Tuck the wire under the headlining. and run down the A pillar. Make sure the wire goes over the steering column.

Once the system is fully plugged in, test it with a spray bottle. The system will activate automatically when the car is in ACC mode. The wipers will operate normally when the stalk is activated. The lights should be automatic when the stalk is in "auto" position. If the fog lights have been turned on, then they will be auto with the headlights. As well, all the headlight features remain. When the car is switched off, the headlights will turn off. Be aware, that the headlights will turn on if the wipers are continually working.

Once tested, the Tape up all connections securely, and reinstall the dash trim pieces. Only the A pillar, Steering column shroud, and the lower console part on the drivers side need removing for this install.
