After 19 years and 261,000km my Verada wagon's rear muffler has died (rust, one of the tailpipes - complete with chrome end- has disappeared). Looked at the wreckers and a Magna wagon one is different - slightly smaller, different mounts, no chrome tips. Looks like it will interchange if I take the body mounts as well. Anyone had any experience with these?
As word of warning, those listed on Ebay show the same part for Magnas or Veradas. The mounts are definitely different.
Any advice appreciated.

Dave...I changed the muffler and engine pipe on TS Magna wagon at the end of last year. It had also corroded away. I can't tell you about the mounts and such but I can tell you to be bloody careful about what type of system you buy. I went to a well-known chain (whom shall remain nameless) and got what I thought was a good deal for a complete system. Well the thing was as droney as anything from day one. Normally a muffler and engine pipe will quieten down once they "soot up" but this thing just drones and drones when the motor is under load. My feeling is that there is inadequate baffling in the muffler itself. Maybe it's a Chinese cheapy. Wouldn't surprise me. Just make sure you get a good Australian made muffler and go back if the thing drones after three weeks and complain. I tried to but I lost my bloody receipt, didn't I? And I paid cash for the bastard!
