Hi guys,

My ralliart doesn't overheat as such but I've noticed that the electric fan runs pretty much most of the time at stand still in traffic, at this stage at will climb from half on the gauge to the next notch above this, it then drops back to half...is this normal?

Water pump is new and it's running coolant, no leaks evident.

I was thinking it could be a faulty thermostat?

Generally this will be the start of the Thermostat failing, make sure of you decide to replace it you use a Genuine one, most places will sell as aftermarket Stant which are crap

Ok thanks again :)
Will I need a thermostat gasket and if so, do I apply it on dry or with a gasket sealant?

I changed the thermostat and the engine temp has dropped on the gauge :)

If I let the car idle for a few min when hot, the fan switches on but seems to stay on for long periods...what temp should the fan turn on and off?

I wonder if the fan temp sensor might be faulty or potentially dirty OR is this normal?

On: 105°C, Off: 100°C (according to ECU fan control maps and logging).

So I wonder why my fan likes to run after it's at s standstill for less than a minute?

I don't see a bleed valve for the cooling system so I topped it up with the radiator cap off

Don't know about ralliart, but my TJ has a drain tap bottom left (passenger side) of radiator.
1/2 turn and it drops the fluid.
