Well, its winter here in Tassy..
For me, that meant (this morning) a 220km drive (TJ FWD non TCL) through non-ploughed roads in the snow, 1st time in the mighty magna...when I arrived I learned the road I was travelling was actually closed to all but 4wd's...lucky I have new tyres instead of 4wd!
I can report that unlike my old Kluger, the snow doesn't build up under the windscreen wipers and bend them out of shape.
I can also report that unlike 2xsubaru's ( 1x Rex, 1xLiberty wagon) I stopped to help, the heavy snow falls and 15cm deep snow on the road did NOT block up the radiator grille inlet and cook the motor!
The magna does build up significant amounts of snow in the rear wheel arches, and some (not enough to block) bottom grille of radiator (bottom of bumper). The gearbox (4sp non tip auto) also had difficulty choosing which gear it wanted at times, and downshifts arrived with a pronounced THUD that I have never experienced before...at the end of the snow, this did not continue however.
So, in short, if you are heading to the snow, keep an eye on the bottom inlet (below bumper) and keep it clear in heavy snow, and you should have no issues.
