Ha ha so my friend in his XR6T ute went down to Calder Park Friday night to see his latest engine improvements and try out some of his new tunes. I thought I would take advantage of the situation and put my car on the track. Bearing in mind I am in a '96 Altera 2.4L 4 cylinder 4 speed automatic.
And the slowest car of the night goes to...

ME!

Run 1: 16.934 @ 132.52km/h - 6100rpm shifts

Run 2: 16.978 @ 132.91km/h - 6200rpm shifts

Run 3: 17.188 @ 129.90km/h - Left A/C running, Nero full blast

Run 4: 16.962 @ 131.50km/h - 6300rpm shifts, Knife Party full blast

Run 5: 16.933 @ 130.94km/h - 6400rpm shifts, massive 5+ second warm up skid, moar Knife Party full blast

Best 60' time was my last run 2.436 seconds.

The worst loss was my fist run. Blown Commodrore ran a 10.065 quarter @ 221.85kmh. Yep, I felt like shit.

As for my friend, he was running low 13's trying to keep axle tramp under control in 4th gear. Yeah, he has six hundred and something kilowatts at the wheels as his DD. Between double and triple my fuel economy around town though ha ha.
Anywho, drag racing with the stereo cranked up is fun, getting absolutely smashed by every car out there that night, not that fun. But still kinda fun.

Not horrible times considering it is just a 2.4 auto
13s is pretty poor though considering 600kw

16.9 isnt bad for a 2.4 Auto. What would that be 0-100?

13s is very poor for 600kw. I have a F6 and it runs 11.7 with 315rwkw.

Yeah, I told him he needs to learn how to drive, he kinda agrees :-) My best 60' time was better than his. He knows he has to work on his launch. He also needs softer, better tyres. He managed 200kmh over the quarter though. His car is so not 'streetable'.

Thanks :D I am just manage to squeeze under 10 seconds 0-100 (self-timed). I think from the factory I've overheard it might be 11 or something. It's surprising how much better the car is with very minor tweaking.

This video is from his best run. I don't know if it will work but you can see there is much room for improvement. Almost a whole second I would agree.
