Moving on from the TR? What is your budget? Intend to stay with Mitsu? Why does it need to be big in the back, do you have/need a wagon? Why am I asking so many questions? lol
I moved from a TS wagon to a TL wagon 2 years ago, big improvement.

Thanks guys don't want the Suburu cause they are all wheel drives and more to go wrong.
I want a wagon because I want to use it to sleep in when I travel. Or at least somewhere to pack all the gear away. I also want it so I can pick up goods I buy. Delivery fees are $30 - $60 a time here in Sydney and that's my food bill for the week.
Yes I think I would prefer to stick with Mitsubishi, most of the cars I have had in Aus were mits. I will have to get someone to come pick the old one up cause with the gearbox gone I can't drive it anywhere and can't wreck it where I am.
Thanks for the link Magna Buff it will certainly help a heap.
I only have about $2500 so not a lot to play with. If another $500 will make a big difference I might put it off for a few months.

A good used TL wagon with about 120,000K on the clock will probably set you back about 6 grand going by the prices on CarSales recently. I'm looking at this model wagon myself. Your other option is to look for a TJ wagon which will be closer to your budget but you'll struggle to find one with less that about 150,000k on the odo. Also, if you go for the TJ try and get a "series 2" car. Check the service history...look to see if the timing belt was changed at the 100,000K mark and also look for all the other mechanical signs...
Look at the oil, listen for noisy valves and make sure all the "bits" on the car work...the air con, the power windows (if fitted) etc. Best value (but hard to find) TJs are the Solara special editions as they had all the fittings of the Advance with a few extra luxury bits.
