Hey I am in need of an aftermarket boss kit to support the mitsubishi 380, I prefer something quick release and genuine only, im not any chinese crap fake counter fit parts.
Does anyone know what kind of boss kit i can get, if the 380s have the same diameter centre part thingy as the pajeros??
Any i would like to know how i can do this install
thanks

Not sure you can do this and remain legal.
My understanding is that if the car left the factory with a steering wheel airbag then it's illegal to remove or disable that airbag.
With maybe the exception of 100% off-road or track use.

i could not care less from a legal point of view, I dont have insurance so im screwed either way in an accident, and road legal hwy patrol issue is easy as, just a good old fasioned blue slip down the road from that guy that does things hahahahaha

In simple terms what you want does not exist.
Your only vague hope is to find something to suit early third gen Magna, will go on the same. You will need to be creative to get your indicator cancel to work (Yes this does need to work or your TCL will also not work) and get your horn working. The kit will need to allow enough room for the clock spring to operate as well. All I can say is good luck.
I really hope you have at least third party insurance as I would hate you to hit some other car and end up being in the poo for the repairs on that car.

I fitted a SAAS aftermarket wheel and boss kit to my old TE Magna (which did not a have an airbag - the car that is).
Went on easy enough, but the indicators never self-cancelled properly afterwards and I had a few problems with the horn ring and the associated wires, took a fair bit of stuffing about before the horn worked as it should.

If your are so creative take an original wheel boss, machine it to fit what ever wheel you wish to put on it. Could be possible with access to a lathe and mill.
Barry.

it wont work for what im doing, it will not support after market steering wheels unless i grind and weld metal on/off which i would not want to do as i dont trust welds for steering components no matter how good of a welder you are

To be perfectly frank, this "i dont have insurance and I dont care" attitude is not really what we want here. IF the car is driven on the road with no insurance this is for starters a really bad example for younger members who may think it is cool or ok and then they hit someone and all of a sudden the other party is left with a bent car and an un insured driver who hits them.
Secondly, I know you do track your car so what ever you do which is fine by the scrutineers is of course fine however if you intend to drive the car on the road knowing you have removed items from that car which make it un roadworthy, again please dont advertise that here. Again there may be younger people who want to then follow your lead and do this not realising how dangerous this could be. We dont really care if you know people where you can just pop over and get a blue slip if you get defected as your car should not be in a state where a defect could be given anyway.
Yes by all means ask if there is a solution to getting an after market wheel on your car for when you are on the track but please dont then start coming over as a smart ass, which I know you are not, in relation to legality. A simple comment back such as "this is for when I track the car" would have been more than sufficient
That is all I am going to say
