Just over 12 mnths ago I purchased a 2 din Pioneer player to replace the old one in my Verada.
After 6 mnths the grand son wanted to watch a dvd while waiting for his nan to come back from shopping.
Loaded the disc, nothing, hit the eject button, nothing. So the dvd is jammed in the unit.
The installer who was 300k away said pull it out and send to Pioneer with a copy of the receipt they will fix it.
Everything else works fine, can watch movies through the usb, reverse camera and sat nav are all working great.
Could'nt be bothered to pull it out and didnt have time
2 weeks ago after warranty runs out eldest son comes for a visit, he rings Pioneer they say they will fix it even with warranty expired and if they can't will replace it as a sign of good will.
Son grabs all the tools needed, he has installed heaps in all his different cars, hence his good will with Pioneer. Removes the woodgrain surround and guess what. He finds the missing dvd. I had put it in the hardly noticible gap between dvd player and surround. He puts it in the slot Bingo it works perfectly LOL

I've done this before with a cd once. Had a quite drunken evening at s friends place abs decided to sleep in the car. Put the cd on to just chill to(I was drunk, don't ask) and thought I'd broken it.

Went to install my new amp and low abs behold the cd was sitting on the top of the radio

Reminds me of the VHS loading slots and some of the things kids used to "post" there. lol

wow!

I had a $3000 pioneer HU when I purchased my old XI nearly 9 years ago. I had a Pioneer AVH touch screen system with reverse camera, on board TV, dvd stacker and steering wheel remote. When the screen had problems folding down for on board stacker, I was told "We would invite you to purchase one of our newer units"

Ive done that too, before I put the trim plate around my DEX-P99RS I was putting the cd in, not looking, slipped it into that same gap, boy did I feel stupid.

I know what you mean Madmax, at one stage in their lives my 2 boys thought the vhs machine was a safe hiding place for their lollies.

ROFL. good stuff.

My wife lost her $300 compact flash card. We couldn't find it anywhere. We were pretty sure it was in the card reader and little Mr 2 year old got up before us and must have played with it.
We thought it would be found when we moved house, but no. :(
So, bought another card (prices came down to about $100) and 2 months later, same thing happens! D'oh!

Now it's 3 years later and the card reader dies. I pull it out of the PC and there's a rattle inside - woohoo ! 2x 16GB Compact Flash cards! :)

Junior had tried to put them back in, but at a weird angle and the card went over the top of the pins & connector and into the back of the card reader housing.
The cards only cost $26 now !!
