Call me mad but after thinking about upgrades and mods to my VR-X, I have decided to leave in its original specs as when I bought it new in 2001 new.

Desperately looking for an ORIGINAL spec replacement rear muffler.

The nice people at MMAL have just a few in stock ready to be destroyed, but wanting over $600 (part no. MR920874).

Any info on where I may source an original or matching aftermarket or parts for custom-build (in SA) version greatly appreciated!

$600 is a rip-off considering that the same spec muffler for the Sports that was also sold as an accessory to boost power on base Magnas (the only difference is the tip - part no. MR924731) costs a more reasonable $300.

Just order a Lukey LR2779 or a Berklee BSO655. The Lukey is basically the same muffler and the Berklee is very similar. Berklee can be found for $150 or so, don't know about the Lukey. Then get your existing tip welded on or go an aftermarket one, easy.

I just managed to find a new OEM at a killer price... more expensive than the Berklee but I know it should last another 10+ years.
