Hi guys, I own a TH magna 3.5L i've never owned one before so never really worked on them, I am having a problem with a large amount of brake pedal travel before the brakes actually start to engage and no there is no air in the system and plenty of brake fluid, it only does it after driving for a while like after 45 mins of driving or so, the pedal goes back to normal after sitting for a few hours also after sitting over night the brake pedal goes completely stiff and I can not press it down until I start the car and have vacuum assist, other cars I have owned allowed at least 5 applications of the brake pedal after turning the engine off. so any ideas?? your help is muchly appreciated

Brake booster could be on the way out but a more likely issue is that the fluid is old. After a good thrash lots of braking systems can go spongy, it your case it does it after a long normal drive indicates that it could be old fluid not taking the heat very well.

Regardless or how much pad you have or how much you have left of your rotors the pedal should always be pretty solid. Unless one of the above issues ^^

Have you completely flushed the brake lines? not just bled them. Sounds like you might have some water/air in the fluid

Yeah was thinking the same guys was just hoping some body has had the same problem with a fix :) but thanks anyway I appreciate it. I will grab some brake fluid from work and flush it out.
