Hi All,

I have read through numerous help topics, but cannot find a situation alike mine.

When I use my remote to unlock my TJ Magna, the whole car unlocks, then locks, then unlocks, then locks and so on. It occurs when I use our second remote also.
This process can occur once, or can occur numerous times until I press the remote key again.
If I am quick when I unlock, I can open the driver door, but all 3 other doors continue to unlock and lock in a repeated pattern until I start the cars ignition.
On the odd occasion, it all works fine and you would not notice the problem.
When I lock the car, there is no problem (it locks on the first press without issue).

I have tried disconnecting the battery for 20 mins (twice) to reset the system. I have also resynced the remotes (twice).
All door locks work fine (when unlocked/locked, all doors function as expected).
The problem has been occurring over the last few weeks, and does not seem to be getting worse, however it did drain the battery the other day, requiring a jump start.

I use this car as my daily drive, so would be great to have it fixed, however, I cannot afford it to cost hundreds of dollars to fix (would have to put up with the problem).

Any help or advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

Jordo.

I had a similar problem many years ago - turned out to be a sticking actuator assembly in the drivers door causing the system to keep thinking I was trying to relock the car with the button inside. removing - greasing and reassembly fixed it.

I will give that a go and see how it goes!!
Thanks for the help bb61266!

I bought a TL a couple of years ago with the same problem, except the car yard had "hidden" the problem by pulling out a fuse in the inside fuse box, so the problem didn't show up in the car yard.

There are a couple of threads on this. Do a search. If you want to you could find the appropriate fuse and stop the erratic behaviour as a temp fix.
