My TS wagon is starting to cost me money and she's feeling a bit long in the tooth. I am selling her this week to a car yard (I don't want to sell her privately because of the inconvenience of getting a road worthy and the possibility of passing problems to someone else). I'll miss the old dunger. She was a good car but with no airbags or ABS she wasn't the safest stead around.
I have been incredibly lucky in finding a replacement for her. An old lady acquaintance of mine bought her TJ Magna Solara a few months after I bought mine in 2001 (the main family car is our Solara, not the wagon). I hadn't seen the lady for quite a while and then I bumped into her a couple of weeks ago. She told me that her husband was no longer able to drive. So she was wanting to sell his Solara and just get about in her little Mirage. She asked me if I knew someone who wanted to buy it and I said, "ME!"
It's in beautiful condition. In metallic maroon colour (my other one is Riversand in colour), totally unmarked. New tyres, timing belt done at 100,000k (car's done 119,000k)and fully maintained by her son...a Mitsubishi mechanic at a local dealer. I'm paying $3500 for it and consider myself lucky. And to think...when I bought my other Solara I paid out $32500 for it! Sheesh!
