Hello again! I'm a stubborn ba#$rd and can't let this oil leak thing go...
Now, decided I would look at the front crankshaft pulley because Im pretty sure there is a leak coming from around there somewhere...
Anyway... inspecting the front crank pulley, after taking the black plastic housing off, I noticed that there was a brown rubber "seal looking thing" poking out at a weird angle... looked wrong to put it bluntly, so I pushed on it and it went back in towards the engine and underneath the rocker cover... Is this normal? Im thinking its not normal, but Ive no idea what it is? If its the seal, its definitely not doing its job but is there a rubber outter "plug" that isnt the seal that it could be?? Im pretty sure there's oil coming out from where this "plug" is. I thought it was oil coming out of the right corner of the rocker cover, but I think it's coming from where the shaft goes in under the rocker cover, is this possible??
Cheers, any advice appreciated! :ninja:

In short... I found it is a plug... and I also found that I shouldnt have pushed it in... then again, it probably shouldnt have been coming out lol yeap this is def where the oil has been coming from, except now, instead of a major oil leak, I now have a hemorrhage...
car not driveable...

thought I answered a while ago
this a four or a six
V6 i will have to look into
a four cyl
are you at the half moon end of the rocker cover
it its gone inside it will down with the chains
hope it breaks up fine or stay intact in the sump
It may clog the oil pump pick up

Thanks for the replies peeps. It is a seal... V6 engine. Crankshaft front. Rubber seal that goes around the shaft between the rocker assembly and the engine block? Stops the oil coming out from the rockers. It was leaking, so i pushed on it and it went inside the rocker cover...
Then i was a even more of a wanker  and took the rockers off to put the seal back in didnt follow proper procedure... timing is effed... can i reset the timing somehow? Didnt put cylinder one in TDC or mark out the distributor cap...
Is the car effed or can i save it? Def cylinders not firing, heaps of condensation out the tail pipe and no oil gettin pumped to the rockers (or very little)... smells like burning oil...
Any help appreciated. Love my magna! Feel like i killed her...
Cheers guys

You keep on saying "crankshaft" but then talk about the rocker cover?
And how did you upset the timing?
Honestly, without some photos no one knows what problem you are experiencing.
My best advice, under the circumstances - back away from that engine, and get someone who knows what they are doing to look at it.

Ok so maybe not the timing per say... but the fact that i took the rocker assembly off, mixed up a couple of the tappets... made it run lime the timing was off? I was careful with the valve covers, didnt touch them, but do you think mixing tappets (hydraulic lifters up) and accidently compressing a couple of them, would be enough to cause the engine to run like it was missing. Ie timing out?
I thought id messed with timing cos i didnt set TDC mark out the distributor... as per the manual, which i read after the fact...
