View Full Version : V6 gearbox - am I missing something

Hi Team,

Please help me out here.

See the attached pic, would any of you be able to confirm whether I'm missing something from the hole in the red circle - it doesn't look like there is a thread there.

Also I assume I used to have a bracket bolted into the bolt holes shown with green circles?? (my fuel filter is no longer mounted on the wall near here, so the fuel line changes may affect this.

I'm needing to confirm I don't have an open gearbox before changing it's transmission oil.

Seeing that the bottom of the holes have the same appearance corrosion and dirt wise as the surface of the gearbox, I'd say nothing was ever mounted in those holes.

Conclusion 1: Don't worry about it.

Conclusion 2: You worry too much.

PS I owned one of these, nothing is mounted on top of the diff casing.

(I'm happy to be corrected, but supply supporting photos please!)

Ah! Yes! I was thinking of the correct term for them thar pesky holes!

Some things in life aren't worth worrying about. Such are these.
