Driving to work this morning, put my foot down on gas and it falls into a huge hole. Switched accross to petrol and its fine.
Will test it out on the way home but seems like something wrong with the gas system? I'll check for leaks around the intake maybe.

I have no idea whether this applies to more recent LPG systems (or is even true of any LPG systems) but years ago I heard of someone getting caught by a very fine filter in the gas line clogging up.

I had these symptoms on my TH Magna. A few repairers tried fixing it and failed. Converter was changed, ring mixer changed, new plugs, leads. Turned out to be the shut off solenoid/gas valve. It wasn't opening fully and under load, the engine couldn't get enough gas.
Start with checking the gas filter, as already suggested. It's inside a round brass container in the line between the supply and the converter/reducer. Clogged or not clogged, change anyway, they are cheap.
If it's the solenoid, check that it has a good click when it opens, also check the solenoid valve on the gas tank itself in the boot.
Best place in Melbourne for diagnosis and repair is Silver Repair Service on Macauley Road, Kensington. They do mostly taxis and know LPG systems very well.

The filter will be under the bonnet. Follow the high pressure gas line (copper) and you will find it. They have a 10mm center bolt holding the cover, which is only about 4 cms in diameter. Before you take it off, shut off the gas supply at the gas tank. There should be a shut off valve on the gas tank. Some gas may vent when you take the filter apart. There is a small 'O' ring that seals the filter cover.

Sounds very similar to my problem. There are a couple of safety interfaces on an LPG system, there is a secondary safety switch (this was under the dash on my Magna behind the the manual gas/petrol changeover switch. Mine also had a loose connection and would lead to starting problems.
I can highly recommend Gary at Silver Repair in Kensington. He is the only guy I have used who identifies problems correctly.

Changed plugs and leads but still the same. Some times its ok under load on gas but most of the time no so it wont accelerate at all

What about checking all the gas supply related items? At least you have new plugs and leads now.

Im going to try and pull the convertor apart on the weekend and clean it, i heard it can gunk up.
Funny its not all the time on gas, some days it can drive fine. To me, it sounds like a blockage somewhere like a dirty filter as its not a small miss, you dont have any power when it misses so definite not spark related.
