Hey guys, I'm back with another ? about my daughters TJ, when I test drove this car the Anti-Lock light was on but the rear brakes had gone through to metal so I assumed (wrongly) that it was on because the pads were so low, I have since replaced the hubs/bearings rotors and pads and the light remains on...I have reset the ECU removed and cleaned the sensors and done multiple prove outs to no avail can someone please advise me as to what might be the cause?.

Thank you in advance.

Terry.

I dunno why this is happening but have you tried a "hard reset" by disconnecting the battery for a minute? Make sure (if you still have the factory radio) that you have your radio's security code and give it a go. Once done, reprogram the radio following the instructions in the handbook. Also, you might have a weird code showing on the trip computer. It will either look like "SW" or "S". This is the body computer wanting confirmation on what sort of car you have. The fix for this is also in the handbook.

Would I be correct in assuming that if the battery has been dead flat for two weeks that it would equate to a hard reset???.

I have not taken any notice of any codes etc, is this a fix or a method of detection?, I was assuming it was a relay or mod or something along those line.

Thanks heaps for your input.

Even if the battery seemed completely cactus there may have been enough voltage and amperage to keep the body computer's data intact. The only way to be sure is to disconnect one batter lead completely, wait for a minute and then reconnect it. Then you can be sure you've done a "hard reset'. Whether it clears the problem I dunno. Ask MadMagna.

The codes I was referring to pop up when you've had a flat battery. They show up in the trip computer display. Nothing to do with your problem but it will frustrate you no end if you don't do the reset on this as defined in the manual.
