Searched but not what I need. The 4spd has gone, I have a low KLM sports 5spd auto want to swap it into a TJ wagon. Any recommendations for a shop in Sydney to do the swap. I can prolly do the electrics, just with Tcu swap, its already got the shifter, wiring & solenoids etc

The ECU requires some things for the traction control. The electrics don't list the extra pin in the engine harness for the solenoid which is additional to the 4 speed. I went through them all when I did my conversion. You will have to change the harness for the engine and possibly install TCL.
otherwise your gearbox will be in limp mode.

If you can solve the extra solenoid wiring issue noted by mcs_xi, it is possible to doctor the ECU to run the 5 speed without TCL provided you have access to a reflashing rig (or someone who has same).

My understanding was the 4spd TCU may have the provision for 5spd, it just sets the speed for 5th too high for it to shift? Any thoughts or knowledge?

Specs: 2003 Tj series 2 executive, if that makes a difference. Thanks for comments mcs & wytwun

While the 4 & 5 speed TCU code is identical, there is a lot of calibration data (of which shift maps are just a part) that is different. It is simpler just to swap to a 5 speed ROM and deactivate the TCL related functions. This can be done while preserving the immobiliser function.

That's sounds like what I need, I turn the tcl off on my verada & did on my old TH sports most times.
I also wondered, WytWun was it you who loaded the ralliart shift program to an AWD, I looked but could not determine that the AWD in fact misses out on TCL, would seem reasonable as it has drive to all 4 wheels anyway, so is that an option, using the AWD TCU?
It already has the tiptronic function, so I should have the solenoids & necessary wiring in place.

AWD cars don't have tcl. However you don't have the EXTRA wire for the 5 speed. You will need to replace your engine harness when you change your ecu.
