Today while driving to work in the TJ I heard two sets of three beeps (bip,bip,bip.........bip,bip,bip) from (presumably) the trip computer, and the screen was flashing "199:55". Confused, I pushed the mode button to return to the odometer, and it did, no problem. On clicking through the modes I noticed the total time sitting at 199:56. My guess is that there is a maximum of 200 hours on the trip computer and it was warning me I had 5 minutes left, but this is just a guess. Can anybody confirm this or know if it's something else entirely?

Correct.
My TJ does it at 19:55 though.

Good to know, cheers MadMax. It definitely wasn't 19:55, I hadn't reset for some months. Mine's a 2003 TJII, maybe a difference in the trip computer? Anyhoo, it'll be interesting to see what the fuel economy is, it was sitting at 10.7 which is not bad for suburban commuting I reckon. Thanks again for the confirmation, much appreciated.

Yep. My TJ series 1 has the display in the centre, yours will have it in the speedo cluster. My TL is the latter, it goes to same as yours, 199.55

Same will also happen when the trip distance is just about to hit 10000km...

Yep...same here. Bloody disconcerting when you are in traffic. Nothing to worry about. Just the computer letting you know it's going into the next time cycle.

While on the subject, can people give a run down of what measurements can be reset without resetting all of them?
ie, you can reset the trip meter with no effect to the other figures, but if you reset the fuel economy it also resets the hours I think?
And are these figures lost on battery disconnection?

Total fuel and L/100km are linked (also avg. speed, I think)
