Hi all iv been having a mysterious problem with my 99 TH wagon, all my instrument lights in my cluster, air con switches and even the trip computer LCD will flicker or turn off and back on when ever they want too, how ever the strange thing is my parker lights work perfectly fine, it dosent do it over hard bumps or little in even surfaces it will do it even when the car is parked, I do not have any aftermarket led's installed, I have also checked all the wiring to make sure there snug and none of the wires are exposed, i have also changed the relay and the fuse in the fuse box and replaced every single little globe in the car and still happens, any answers would be great cause I'm scratching my head at the moment

Possibly a problem with the rheostat. Have you tried fiddling with it to see if the lights flicker?

Ah, yes, I was talking about the dimmer. I'll check the diagram and get back to you.

I have no ideas that you haven't already eliminated. There's really only the tail light relay, a 10A fuse and the rheostat in the circuit, as well as a bunch of plugs. An intermittent issue like this can be a bastard to find, my guess is there's one dicky plug that you've missed or one dodgy earth somewhere. If it helps the earth wire from the JB for this circuit is blue, I have no idea where it earths to though.

Cheers mate, I'll look for this illusive blue wire and where it goes, I was also thinking maybe the cluster is some how broken, I noticed last night when everything turned off again when I was driving that if I smack the top of the dash board the lights would come back on for the duration that iv hit it then turn back off straight away, so maybe a faulty instrument cluster??

Sounds like an earthing issue.

In the TH the cluster uses the mounted plugs that the cluster slips on to.
I would take the cluster out and use contact cleaner and check the connections don't have crap in them. A piece of perfectly placed dust can cause this issue.
