Hi all,
previous owner of my car did a 6g75 conversion before i bought it, i've discovered as the weather is warming up that the main fan (on the passenger side) isn't coming on at all.
the car gets warm enough for the A/C fan to kick in as the emergency backup (what a good guy) which has thus far stopped it overheating...
obviously that's not ideal however, so i'd like to fix this before it gets warmer as the tune in my car seems to hate excessive warmth, it was getting a bit pingy today.
I'm looking for some clues as to what would be causing it to not work eg: earth locations, relays etc?
on the searching i've done, this isnt the first car to have this happen, just none of the threads i found gave a solution with the detail i'm chasing.
would the temp sender be a cause? ecu not switching because 380 sender?

Just a thing, but is the fan plugged in?
The fan motor may also be dead.

First thing I have planned is to check the connection and then give it some 12v and see if i can make it manually fire.

Had the same type of problem with the old TH, the main fan is multi speed so either the controlling relay is faulty or the winding in the fan has failed, you can swap the high speed and low speed relays to test the relays, in my case it was the fan windings - as a temporary hack I jumpered the main fan low speed relay activation to the high speed relay - made for slightly variable water temp as it tended to have too much hysteresis but solved the problem of getting too hot and kicking in the A/C fan.

ok, so to avoid this being another thread that ends in not having a solution as per my search that ended me in starting this thread...
checked the plug, all plugged in nice and snug.
cast my eyes to the fan itself, poked it with my finger to spin it (see if it was seized) and the sodding thing fell off the motor!!
turns out the plastic was well munted and un-usable, so i'm off to the wreckers after work to get a new one.
the fusable link below the relays next to the battery was also blown, most likely when the fan has come off the motor.
tomorrow will report back with a fresh fan and motor, new fusable link and hopefully a story of success.
the relays themselves are the same as the headlight ones, (this is in a TL) so as a quick way to test them, swap them out. if it magically starts working, or your headlights stop working, its a relay issue. Narva do some that will work happily.

hope it helps. I'm not a trained mechanic but come from a long line of Bush mechanics...
