Hey all!
Just wondering if they made woodgrain for the Solara console, particularly the section where the climate control is on the Verada etc...? Or do you need to convert to climate control for the full set?
Also... did the woodgrain change with the models from KE to KJ? I just installed Verada door trims, and I think the guy said it was a 97 or 98 model. Certainly looks a lot darker grain than ive seen in other T/KJ's...
Cheers all!
KE-KJ verada centre fascia woodgrain surrounds are for climate control aircon units only. There are are differences in Woodgrain finish colour as you have observed. KJ's had the lighter more rosewoody type finish as the earlier KE-KF and I think KH had the darker brown cedar type finish. (I've experimented with both - The later KJ definitely looks better)

Thanks for replies. I actually like the darker woodgrain, a little bit more subtle... ill keep a look out for KH woodgrain to complete the set, can always leave the top section off until ive done the climate control conversion...
Cheers all!
you can buy the woodgrain wrap in various colors, why not just buy a roll of that and cover your existing plastics.. .. or buy some cheap plastics from your wreckers and cover them

You can get stick on wood grain made for the manual a/c control Magna's, this set also is for the TE without the cup holders down the center too, you can put it on the cup holder version it just doesn't sit 100%
This is one shot from when I had it on my car. Ill give you a few photos as im not sure what will give you the best idea.

Then once I installed the climate control I used the proper Verada woodgrain which IMO isnt a nicer looking pattern compared to the stick on, but this actually belongs on the car.

I agree with the later model KJ-KW woodgrain looking nicer.
The stick on stuff you used to be able to get off Ebay.

the above pictures are the same style as mine, which is a KF. So no, not all KF's had the darker pattern. Infact I found the exact opposite, since I took woodgrain door panels from a later GTVi and they are darker and of a different pattern

Thanks for the pics. Had a look on ebay but didnt come up. I think with a little bit of tweaking... you could use the climate control panel with the standard switches. Id cut a section of the switch panel out and fashion it to fit in the climate panel cutout. Probably have to modify the climate panel too a little. Repaint the switch section, Slot them together a little bit of glue, bit of chrome moulding between the joint and there you have it!
That way i can still have matching centre console and door switches!

Go to the US Ebay site (or in the search bar type "www.ebay.com" without the au) and search "Diamante woodgrain trim" but before you buy specify that you want the kit for a right hook car, not left hand drive. From memory some of them will supply kits to suit Australian Magnas.

What models have the air vents and clock area incased in a woodgrain insert? Did the KE to KJ models have it?
Cheers

I did not think any did except for the KL/KW which the radio fasica and vents were one piece.

Ahh ok, ive noticed that nobody has it with KJ/TJ and earlier... is that section identical on the KL and KW to the earlier models? Id be happy to cut it in half lol except they probably have a different grain... Maybe Diamante in the America had it?
Cheers mate

Ended up getting woodgrain out of a 99 TH verada, someone had broken the climate control trim so left that, but got the rest minus door switches for $6... Not the greatest condition but at that price, I wasnt about to walk back to the car and put it back...
Looks good enough. Just wondering now, has anyone put a TL trip computer and vent panel into a TJ with success?
Other than that, im thinking the diamante vinyl stickers will work, if both stereo trim and trip computer are the same...
Cheers

Scratch that, sorry just noticed that the TL seems to be a "one piece" panel... wont work without chopping it up
