would there be anything wrong/different with ordering up-rated brake discs and pads from the US-of-A, if it "fit" an equivalent model and year Diamante?
thanks :)

Can't see how they would be any better than a set of QFM pads on slotted and crossdrilled rotors that you can buy locally. The shipping would be a killer from the US.
You would really need to go with larger rotors and pads to really uprate the brakes, this would require a different caliper and possibly larger wheel to fit over it. Do a search on this site for the 380 brake upgrade for Magnas.

done that upgrade already, just shopping around for ideas for rear brakes/and or fronts.

Well ,the yanks never got the 380 brakes ,so ,only local stuff applies.
.as for the rears ..some will say that they dont do all that much braking anyway ,but apart from upgrading to slotted discs and better pads ,your only options are AWD or Ralliart rear brakes.
Calipers are the same for both ,but ,the AWD rear discs will require a 3.7mm spacer from Hopper Stoppers to make the set up work.
If you some how score a set of Ralliart rear disc's ,you DONT need the spacer.

well, rear brakes are a kind of priority at the moment, since they're about a mil below the minimums on the discs :P may as well be doing nothing at all, even if they were only doing about 10-20% braking.
if i went for DBA rear discs for a Ralliart (DBA 426S and or X), would the standard calipers fit the new discs? or would i have to find new calipers as well?

Good luck buying Ralliart Discs.
That part number is for std solid rear discs.
The awd/Ralliart ones are vented, and have a different hat size to one another ,hence ,the need to run a spacer with the AWD disc.
DBA have nill stock ,and ,yes ,you will need to get the AWD/Ralliart rear caliper.
Dont stress about getting one or the other as they are both the same .
You will have more luck finding a AWD rear set up ,thats for sure

Just a thought, the Ts wagon had abs / larger (284mm) rear ventilated brakes. They're selling slotted rotors for $17.50 atm, I believe they have a deeper hat than even the AWD, does hoppers crossing make to order the spacers? any thoughts?

US Diamante this gen had twin pot MR249964, MR249965
Rotor was MR449660
For 15" setup. Rotor size and pads will be different AFAIK we have PBR

the 380 setup is a PBR, but the AWD/RALLIART setup is akebono and the same as an EVO4 non-brembo.
you'd be best getting some Qfm pads with either machined or slotted rotors, and looking into braided lines. i have the AWD front setup with brand new lines and seems to do the job well, and i plan to go braided later. you will need to get some made up by a brake shop if you decide to go braided lines.

With the weight of brakes I agree shipping will kill you.
Better getting local imo
